Warehouse worker
Warehouse work is the classic entry route without a licence or qualification. Large logistics centres hire year-round, mostly on shifts.
Typical duties
- 01Receive goods and check them for completeness and damage
- 02Store and relocate items, maintain stock records
- 03Prepare and pack consignments for dispatch
- 04Work with handheld scanners and a warehouse management system
Requirements
- No driving licence or vocational qualification required
- Willingness to work early, late or night shifts
- A forklift certificate helps but is often obtained on the job
The statutory minimum wage in Germany is €13,90 gross per hour (2026). Many sectors apply higher collective or sector minimum wages.
