Industrial fitter
Assembly of plant, steelwork, windows or drywall. Often involves travel with allowances, and pays above average.
Typical duties
- 01Assemble components and sub-assemblies from drawings
- 02Align and bolt plant, assist with commissioning
- 03Check dimensions and keep assembly records
- 04Work on changing sites at home and abroad
Requirements
- Technical understanding and confidence with tools
- Reading simple technical drawings is an advantage
- Willingness to travel, in some firms for weeks at a time
The statutory minimum wage in Germany is €13,90 gross per hour (2026). Many sectors apply higher collective or sector minimum wages.
